| SCUTUM makes its mark at the Galileo Application Days |
SCUTUM was present in Brussels during the Galileo Application Days from 3 to 5 March 2010. Major information about the project was widely spread during the three days event organised by the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA). During the dedicated session on road, the project coordinator, Antonella Di Fazio, delivered a presentation on SCUTUM and Domenico Pizzorni (eni) presented the eni experience in using EGNOS (eni presentation). The recently born project attracted the attention of many experts as well as of high level public authorities. European Commission Vice-President, Antonio Tajani, visited the SCUTUM stand and met SCUTUM project coordinator.
In the Galileo Application Village, the participants were entertained by a live demonstration of EGNOS tracking and tracing services: a car equipped with the MENTORE EGNOS-GPRS/WiFi OBU was tracked while circulating in Brussels. The services make use of the EGNOS data distributed by EDAS (EGNOS Data Access System), and processed in the Telespazio Service Platform in Rome, and visualised on a screen at the SCUTUM booth.
